Painting and tapestry crochet (multi-strand acrylic yarn)
PRACTICE
4 Years
Adewole Oluwadamilola’s practice excavates the interior lives of African people, exploring identity, resilience, social issues, and the quiet pursuit of wholeness, through a signature “pixelated” style building intricate crochet portraits from multi-strand acrylic yarns. Her current Floral Symbolism Series houses surrealist portraits of African women within bold metaphorical floral forms, using crocheting as social commentary on identity and as a space of solace for mental and personal struggles.
