Adesewa

This artwork was born from my reflection on the quiet resilience of the African woman, how she carries her identity with grace even when life feels heavy. I painted Adésẹwà standing before the mountains of her journey, not in defeat, but in a calm acceptance of who she’s becoming.

The soft sky mirrors her inner healing, that gentle return to sanity and self after surviving silent battles. Her blue blouse reflects her tenderness, while the gold earring reminds us of the value she holds within, a heritage, a story, a strength she refuses to lose.

She stands here as a symbol of every woman who rises with dignity, shaping beauty from her scars and finding peace within her own becoming.
