Grandma’s Treasures 1

“Grandma’s Treasures” is a visual representation of a woman carrying the sacred Igbo ukwu pot, an ancient artefact of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. This symbolizes the cherished stories, traditions, virtues, and wisdom carried and passed down through generations. It’s like the grandmas are the keepers of cultures, weaving together threads of history, love, strength, and resilience.

I grew up in a family where we visited our grandmas at certain periods of the year, and they served meals in one tray where ever member of the family eats from, this was a form of family bonding, love and unity, it was a tradition with a sense of family belonging and connection that keeps grandma strong and happy, as she is always ready to pound fufu or cassava to make sure the whole family is happy.
