In the Maze II explores the challenges of navigating a world that can often feel confusing and difficult to understand. Inspired in part by the experiences of individuals living with dyslexia and other learning differences, the work uses a labyrinth of letters as a metaphor for the obstacles many encounter in communication, learning, and self-discovery.
At the center, a young child extends a hand outward, embodying vulnerability, resilience, and the desire for connection. The gesture suggests both a search for guidance and an invitation to understanding. While rooted in the experience of learning challenges, the work speaks more broadly to anyone who has felt lost, misunderstood, or overwhelmed, yet continued to move forward.
Through this painting, I reflect on perseverance, empathy, and the strength required to find one’s path through life’s complexities.
