Emmanuel is a Nigerian visual artist born in 2001, based in Lagos. One of the most quietly compelling voices in the contemporary Nigerian art scene, Emmanuel’s work is rooted in the depth of personal experience and the complexity of human emotion rendered with exceptional skill in oil on canvas.

Emmanuel studied Fine and Applied Arts at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, where he developed both the technical discipline and the philosophical grounding that define his practice today. His artistic style draws on the traditions of figurative painting, threading through African aesthetic sensibilities and neoclassical portraiture to arrive at something distinctly his own. His subjects often rendered in poses of introspection and quiet vulnerability serve as windows into themes of self-love, contentment, identity, and self-esteem. His paintings do not simply depict people; they invite the viewer into a moment of genuine reflection.

Handpicked by Saatchi Art’s Chief Curator for the prestigious Rising Stars feature, Emmanuel’s work has been exhibited both locally and internationally, including at the Life in My City Art Festival (LIMCAF) 2023 and the Breaking Silence exhibition on Artsy.
