Damola is one of Nigeria’s most internationally celebrated contemporary visual artists. Born in 1988 in Ejigbo, Osun State, he pursued his passion for art at Obafemi Awolowo University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts a formal foundation that he has since expanded far beyond its boundaries through a career marked by boldness, cultural depth, and global reach.

Damola’s paintings and drawings are deeply rooted in his personal heritage and the cultural narratives of the African experience. His work does not simply portray, it interrogates, honours, and preserves the stories that define identity and belonging. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, his canvases are rich with texture, colour, and emotional precision, moving fluidly between portraiture, figurative painting, and culturally layered storytelling.

His international profile is remarkable. His work was commissioned for the 2023 film adaptation of The Color Purple, cementing his place in the intersection of art and global culture. He is the only African artist to have been featured in the World of Women NFT projects, collaborating with platforms including OpenSea and Saatchi Art; a distinction that speaks to both his artistic range and his pioneering approach to digital art. His paintings have been auctioned by Jasper52, LiveAuctioneers, and Bidhaus, and have found their way into the private collections of notable figures including Marcus Gardley, Jimmy Akingbola, and Lisane Basquiat.
